2011-10-29 | Remixes, remixes, remixes

Hey folks, there are some new remixes I've done in the past months.
First of all, my friend Dominik will release a new EP with his project Needlewire, entitled Ratking! I did a remix for the title track and have no doubt this release will be as awesome as Puppeteer was. It will be available on 11th November here: needlewire.de.

Furthermore, I remixed Diffuzion from Belarus. The special edition of their album Winter Cities contains a Mortal Void remix of Pure Venom and will be released on Alfa Matrix on November 25th.

After that, I still was in remix mood and took part in a remix contest for a Jan Johansen track. You can listen to the result at SoundCloud.

In addition, my remix of [:SITD:]'s track Rot from last year's remix contest is available for streaming and free download on their SoundCloud.

Es gibt ein paar Neuigkeiten.
Zunächst gibt es ein Interview (deutsch) im Daily Dead, geführt mit Gasher G. 14.
Weiterhin ist eine erste Rezension zu "The Great Pretending" auf machinistmusic.net (russisch) online - hier erhält das Album starke 8,5/10 Punkten und wird darüber hinaus (zusammen mit der EO4-Compilation) zum Album des Monats August gekürt! Auf gleicher Seite steht ein weiteres Interview (russisch und englisch) zur Verfügung.

Ich freue mich außerdem, euch das nächste Mortal Void Konzert ankündigen zu dürfen!

Ich bin ganz sicher nicht der größte Fan von Re-Releases weil es immer Argumente dafür gibt, das Ganze als Abzocke zu sehen. Lasst mich versuchen zu erklären, warum das nicht meine Absicht war:
Auf der Suche nach einem Label für mein neues Album "The Great Pretending" habe ich leider keine zufriedenstellende Lösung gefunden, es irgendwie - mit einem Label im Rücken - auf CD veröffentlichen zu können. Da mir schlicht das Geld fehlt, kann ich leider auch keine Pressung finanzieren. Also schien mir die einzige Möglichkeit, möglichst viele Menschen zu erreichen ohne viel Geld auszugeben, das ich nicht habe, mich für den Weg des digitalen Vertriebs zu entscheiden.
Das bedeutet, dass das Album bei Amazon-MP3, iTunes, eMusic, Musicload, Napster und vielen anderen verfügbar sein wird.

Da dies bedeutet, dass heutzutage fast jeder Zugriff darauf hat, schien es mir eine gute Idee,
"One Frame Left" und "Nullsummenspiel" für den Digitalvertrieb verfügbar zu machen.
Die genauen Informationen dazu findet ihr im Discog-Bereich oder auf einer eigens zu diesem Zweck eingerichteten Informationsseite.

Das Problem hierbei ist, dass ich keinerlei Einfluss auf die angesetzten Preise in den Shops selbst habe (ausgenommen Bandcamp).



"One Frame Left" war zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits fast 4 Jahre alt und es fühlte sich irgendwie beinahe als Betrug an, das Album zu einem vermutlich höheren Preis digital verfübrar zu machen, als es physikalisch, also als CD, kostet. Da ich aber am Preis nichts ändern kann, kann ich nur das Angebot verändern.
Ich denke, ich habe mich seitdem produktionstechnisch verbessert und habe mich daher entschlossen, OFL einen Hauch ein wenig neues Leben einzuhauchen. Ich habe also jeden Song hinsichtlich Sounds, Effekten und Mixdown überarbeitet (bis auf die Remixe), habe noch zwei Remixe angefertigt und bin nun mit dem Resultat zufrieden.



"Nullsummenspiel" dagegen war von Anfang an eine Art Experiment.
Das Album ist generell genau das gleiche, das ich auch schon kostenlos angeboten habe.
Es wurde ein halbes Jahr später etwa 600 mal von meiner Website und anderen Quellen heruntergeladen.
Nach dieser Zeit erhielt ich das Angebot, dieses Album trotzdem auch auf CD zu veröffentlichen
(mit einem zusätzlichen Remix von Sacred Complex aus dem Jahre 2004).
Ich hatte nicht zu viel erwartet aber wusste, dass es immer Hardliner gibt,
die lieber CDs in der Hand haben und da ich diese nicht selbst finanzieren konnte,
fiel es mir nicht schwer, "ja" zu sagen und abzuwarten, was passiert.
Was passiert ist war, dass nur sehr sehr wenige Leute die CD gekauzft haben.
Wer hätte das gedach? ;) Da ich nun "One Frame Left" digital vertreiben wollte, wollte ich auch
"Nullsummenspiel" einem größeren Publikum zugänglich machen. Moment, war es das nicht bereits Ende 2008,
als es kostenlos zu haben war? Richtig. Würde also jemand Geld für den gleichen Kram ausgeben? Eher nicht.
Hatte ich noch etwas im Ärmel, um es euch etwas attraktiver zu machen, doch Geld dafür auszugeben?
Keine Ahnung, das müsst ihr mir sagen. Aber ich habe mich entschieden die allerersten Krankheitssymptom-
Songs von der Zeit 2002-2004 drauf zu packen und ebenso die letzten Asphyxiation Death Stücke aus 2003 und 2004.

I'm certainly not a big fan of re-releases because there are always arguments why they could be consided as some kind of a rip-off.
Let my try to explain why that's not my intention:
While looking for a label to release my new full-lenght album "The Great Pretending",
I did not found a satisfying solution to release it on cd with a label in my back.
Lacking money, I can't cope with financing it by myself.
So the only possibility to reach as many people as possible without spending money
I actually don't have was to decide upon digital distribution, which is much less costly.
This means the album will be available on Amazon-MP3, iTunes, eMusic, Musicload, Napster etc.

Realizing that nowadays, it means almost everyone can access the music, I thought it might be
a good idea to make "One Frame Left" and also "Nullsummenspiel" available via digital distribution.
You find more detailed information in the discog section and on the espacially created information pages.

The problem is, that I don't have an influence on the price in the shops (except Bandcamp).

"One Frame Left" was almost 4 years old at this point of time and it felt like cheating to
release the same thing digitally for a probably higher price than on cd.
Since I can't change the price, I can change the product.
I think I enhanced my productions skills since working on OFL and thought about giving it a breath of fresh air.
So I re-worked every song regardings sounds, effects and mixdown (except for the remixes),
made two remixes myself and now I'm satisfied with the result.

"Nullsummenspiel", on the other hand, was some kind of experiment right from the beginning.
The album is basicly the same as it was when I gave it away for free.
It has been downloaded round about 600 times half a year later from both, my website and other sources.
After that period I got the proposal to release it on cd anyways (with an additional remix by Sacred Complex from 2004). I didn't expect too much but I knew there are always the cd-hardliners and since I didn't have to finance it by myself, it wasn't too hard to say "yes" and see what happens. Well what happened was, that only very few people bought the cd. Who knew? ;) Since I just made the decision with "One Frame Left", I also wanted to make "Nullsummenspiel" available for a wider audience. Well, stop. It already has been available for a wider audience in 2008 when available as a free download, hasn't it? Yes. So would anyone spend money for the same thing? Rather not. Did I have something up my sleeve to make this release more attractive and being more worthwile spending money on? I don't know, you tell me. But I decided to remasted the very first Krankheitssymptom songs from the era 2002-2004 and also add the latest Asphyxiation Death songs, also from 2003-2004.

2010-12-16 | 2010 klingt aus ...

2010 klingt so langsam aus und rückblickend ist leider viel weniger passiert, als ich eigentlich vor hatte. Das neue Mortal Void Album sollte schon längst veröffentlicht sein aber mangels Interesse seitens kontaktierter Labels werde ich wohl den Weg der digitalen Veröffentlichung gehen. Das heißt ihr werdet etwa im Februar in der Lage sein, das Album bei Amazon, iTunes und weiteren großen Anbietern zu erstehen. Genaue Infos wie das finale Tracklisting und bestimmte Preise gebe ich bekannt, sobald ich auch die letzten Remixe habe.

Ansonsten arbeiten Arne und ich derzeit am Plague Of Madness Album. Wer jedoch nur eine Mischung aus Mortal Void und TrümmerWelten erwartet, wird etwas erstaunt aus der Wäsche gucken. Auf SoundCloud und der POM-Facebook-Seite könnt ihr schon in einige Songs reinhören, meist jedoch in der Instrumental-Fassung. Wir hoffen, euch im Frühjahr erste finale Fassungen präsentieren zu können! :)

2010 is slowly dying away and it retrospectively happened much less then I expected. The new Mortal Void album should have been released quite a while but since a lack of interest from the labels I've contacted, I will do it on my own by chosing the digital release way. That means you will be able to purchase the album, roughly in February, at Amazon, iTunes and other big distributors.
Further informations like the final track listing and certain prices will be announced as soon as I have the last remixes.

Besides that, Arne and I are working on the Plague Of Madness album. If you expect just a mixture of Mortal Void and TrümmerWelten, you will probably be surprised at the final result of our works. You can check out some songs at SoundCloud and the POM Facebook page, but please know that there are mostly instrumental versions of the songs. We hope to be able to present you some final versions in spring. :)

Beim erstmals stattfindenen The Dark Place Festival (11.06. - 13.06.2010 in Tutow) werdet ihr gleich zwei mal attackiert. Mit etwas Verspätung könnt ihr euch nun euer Exemplar des ersten offiziellen Pseudokrupp Project Albums mit dem Titel "2009 vor unserer Zeit" sichern! Ich habe auf einigen Tracks Background-Vocals, sowie einen Remix von Eiszeit beigesteuert. Kauft euch das Album, es lohnt sich! Erste Anlaufstelle: POPoNAUT.

Weiterhin habe ich einen Remix für Virtual Victim gemacht, der euch innerhalb der nächsten Monate auf der VV-MySpace-Seite präsentiert wird! Wann genau es soweit ist, kann ich noch nicht sagen - ihr werdet aber rechtzeitig informiert. :)

A little delayed, but finally you can get your copy of the first official Pseudokrupp Project album, entitled "2009 - vor unserer Zeit". I did the background vocals on a few songs and also a remix of Eiszeit. Buy the album, it's worthwile! First point to go: POPoNAUT.

Furthermore, I made a remix for Virtual Victim which will be presented on the VV myspace site within the next months. Right now, I can't exactly tell you when - but you'll be informed in time! :)
